The Dala Group’s Favorite Family Games

While I might be typing this post, the inspiration for it comes from our whole team. We thought it’d be fun to have a light-hearted, non-financey post for once. I hope you find some connection with the fun we like to have. And boy, we like to have fun!

In a recent team chat thread where everyone participates in celebrating each other, taking care of common business, and sharing encouragements we hear from clients, I asked everyone to share their favorite games. Here are the responses, in order.

Stacy was the first to speak up, sharing:

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza is one of the Bromann family favorites”

Stacy

Mike and Linnea had a lot of suggestions. Mike chimed in:

Mike

“We play minute to win it games”

Followed by Linnea saying:

“Mike & I fell in love playing Rook 😆 also, Stratego, Settlers of Catan. And we just played Yahtzee for lunch”

Linnea

We had a couple of stragglers in answering my question the following day. To be fair, I posted my original question late in the day, and Kristin and Kim chimed in first thing in the morning. Kristin loves that we have this down-to-earth topic to share with clients and followed up by answering:

“The McCoy house has a weekly game & pizza night every Thursday! Our favorite games to play w/our kiddos are Sleeping Queens, Outfoxed, and Throw Throw Burrito. I’m still a sucker for the games I grew up playing with my family: Clue, Life, Monopoly.”

Kim closed out the sharing by revealing:

“We play a Vietnamese card game called Thirteen

Kim

I don’t know about you, but there was a whole host of games I had never heard of on this list. I’ve included links to each so you can learn more and think about playing yourself. Outfoxed! was the only one I couldn’t find on Wikipedia, so make of that what you will. Ha! You might be interested in the etymology of the game we all call Clue. I had no clue it had an alternate name. It’s too bad I Vant to Bite Your Finger isn’t readily available anymore for family fun! You HAVE to watch that video.

In closing, I want to celebrate each of these fantastic co-workers. I have personally been supported by all of them, and they consistently demonstrate that they are caring, diligent, and sacrificial in their work and interest in serving The Dala Group clients. I’m sure you’ve gotten to taste that, too, if you’ve been around any of them for any length of time.
